Chemistry - (Grades 9-12) Science Credit

Prerequisite:  Proficiency in Algebra I

This is a 2 hour class that meets on Friday only. Introduction to main topics in chemistry: atoms and molecules, the periodic table, various chemical reactions, stoichiometry, heat, organic compounds, and nuclear chemistry. The focus of this course will be on applications of chemistry in everyday life. In class, the theory will be illustrated by demonstrations. The supplemental reader and worksheet copy fee of $35 is included in the cost of the class.
