Description: Whether you are college bound, considering a trade, or plan to join the work force after graduation, communicating clearly and intelligently is a key to success. In this course, we will explore, practice, and master basic elements of English grammar, including parts of speech, figures of speech, punctuation, a variety of sentence structures, and much more. We put what we learn about grammar into practice as we complete a variety of short writing assignments, including narrative, descriptive, and persuasive writing. Learning to write essays provides a structure that can be used for writing assignments in any class as you make your way through middle school and into high school and beyond.
