Description: Spanish I introduces students to the basics of speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish, with the goal to have 90% of instruction in Spanish and 10% in English for guidance. Taught from a Christian perspective, this course focuses on using language to honor God. Students will engage in conversational practice, learn cultural insights, and explore biblical principles, fostering a foundation for both language learning and cross-cultural service.

Description:

Spanish II immerses students in 90% Spanish instruction to develop proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with 10% English for support. By using the foundations of Spanish I, Spanish II will expand vocabulary, learn new verb tenses, increase cultural knowledge, and grow in comfortability in speaking in Spanish.  Taught from a Christian perspective, this course emphasizes using language to reflect God’s love and engage with Spanish-speaking cultures as image-bearers of Christ. Through conversational practice, cultural projects, and scriptural reflections, students will grow in fluency and gain a deeper appreciation for serving God through cross-cultural connections.

Spanish III (Grades 10–12)

Description: Spanish III develops students’ mastery of vocabulary, oral communication skills, and grammatical structure with a special focus on verb forms. The text features true stories and letters from missionaries in Spanish-speaking countries. The Spanish educational materials teach the Spanish language as well as the culture. Also, the students will read simple biographies of some of the most distinguished characters in the church, from the past and present, totally in Spanish. There is a $10 copy fee included in the cost of this class.
